  • This test is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women;
  • Do not forget to bring any imaging exams related to the disease under investigation.

HOW IS THE EXAM PERFORMED?

After filling out the registration form at the reception, the patient will undergo a brief clinical interview to check their data and exam preparation. Then, the patient will be sent to the exam room.

In the exam room, the patient will be positioned on the device’s gurney and must remain lying down for 1 hour.

A vein, preferably in the forearm, will be punctured and a small amount of radioactive material (tracer) will be injected.

Sequential images over 1 hour will be acquired immediately after injection. During this period, it is important for the patient to not move.

Acquisition of images later on, and even on the next day may be requested at the discretion of the nuclear medicine physician, so do not schedule any appointments during this period.

At the end of the exam, the patient will be discharged without any restrictions.
